Australian Open!

Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the season has just begun few days ago. Next week and a half will be very exciting, since we will have an honor too see two of the best players in the world currently, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic, fighting for this prestigious tournament which is played in Melbourne. Currently in Melbourne weather is slightly unbearable for tennis players, since degrees are going up to 44 degrees which made few of the tennis players forfeit their matches since they almost collapsed.

In the male part of the tournament there were few big surprises on the tournament already, since 5th placed Juan Martin Del Potro has come out of the tournament after being hardly defeated by Roberto Bautista in five long sets.We are currently at the 3rd round of the tournament and it will be very interesting too see on how things will unravel at the rest of this tournament. Rafael Nadal, who is probably the main favorite to win this tournament along Djokovic, will play against Gael Monfils in next round of the tournament, and Djokovic will play against best Uzbekistan player called Denis Istomin. It is hard to make any current predictions, but we can certainly see Rafa and Novak challenging for the trophy in the finals of this tournament.

Other big favorites for finals of the Wimbledon are certainly Andy Murray, who just got back on the court from its 3 month injury, and is currently playing very well on this tournament. Also, we cannot discredit Roger Federer, even though he is not playing very well in last 4-5 months of his career, but he still has chance to go far in this tournament and maybe even challenge for the trophy.
The biggest favorite from the female competition are certainly Azarenka, Sharapova and Serena Williams. Three of them have proceeded into the 3rd round of the tournament, with Maria Sharapova almost losing in the 2nd round of the tournament to the Cornet. However, the main favorite to win tournament, Serena Williams, is standing very well in the tournament, and has currently crashed all of her opponents until now.
To summarize up, we can currently enjoy great tennis, both from WTA and ATP players, since most of the favorites are standing very well currently, and we just cannot see them dropping before the next week of the tournament where everything will be very tight. Hopefully the weather can also become better since many tennis players are struggling to play in these hot conditions.
